Steven H Lorber

Attorney Steven H. Lorber has dedicated over 33 years to practicing Family Law in San Diego. He has successfully handled hundreds of family law matters including complex property cases, high-conflict custody disputes, and is an experienced practitioner. He has been awarded the highest accolade in Martindale Hubbell: an AV rating. He was recognized by the San Diego Super Lawyer for demonstrating his excellence in Estate Planning in the hostile environment of Family Law. He has represented clients in front of the Internal Revenue Service and various professional licensing boards.

Knowledge and Experience

Having appeared before San Diego’s Family Court Judges for over three decades, Mr. Lorber has achieved esteem in the legal community and is known for his professionalism and integrity. Steven brings the wisdom and knowledge obtained from 33 years of interaction with opposing counsel, mediators, judges, and clients.

Steven was raised in Iowa and attended the University of Iowa until 1968 when he enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his service, Steven went on to receive an undergraduate degree in Social Work from San Diego State University in 1976. Mr. Lorber attended Western State Law School and was admitted to practice law in California in 1981. He is a member of the San Diego County Bar and American Bar Association.

Steven practiced as an Associate Attorney at Zimmerman & Kahanowitch where he refined his litigation skills as an Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney. He then began working for Equi-Tax, Inc., as the President and Corporate Counsel Tax Compliance Officer. While at Equi-Tax, Mr. Lorber represented individuals and small businesses affording him the opportunity to appear in front of the IRS and FTB.
